Barış Görgün was born in Adana in 1985. After completing primary school and the first years of the secondary school in Adana he continued his education in Istanbul Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School. After graduating from high school in 2003 Barış Görgün continued his education at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine and he received general surgery education at Universitat Giessen in Giessen Germany for a month during his medical faculty years. After graduating from medical faculty with honors in 2009 he completed his compulsory service in Istanbul Kuzguncuk Ethem Arutan Health Center. As a result of the Examination for Specialty in Medicine he took during the compulsory service he started specialization education in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty at Istanbul University in 2011. After 5 years of specialization education he completed his thesis titled ``Evaluation of Muscle Spasticity in Children with Hemiparetic Cerebral Palsy with Elastography Method and Determination of Treatment Algorithm`` with his thesis supervisor Prof. Dr. Muharrem İNAN and got the title of Orthopedics and Traumatology specialist in 2016.
Barış Görgün speaks fluent English and beginner German. After specialization education he had hand surgery and microsurgery education in Rhön Klinikum Klinik für Handchirurgie in Bad Neustadt Germany for two months.
He had passed Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Council (TOTEK) proficiency exam in 2016. He completed his compulsory service in Patnos district of Ağrı between 2017 and 2018. Barış Görgün who is currently team physician of Turkey U17 Men's National Basketball Team joined the Ortopediatri family in Mart 2018.
